The other sports ranked higher in your list have just been around in the public space longer and are more sport oriented. I was a little disappointed when I found out that Wing Chun came so low in that table. But assuaged by the fact that "kung fu" gets 5 million searches! Same here. I have heard aswell Wing chun repeatedly calle dfthe most poplar mrtial art. I myself knew no one personally who practised it. I would have also thought that Karate was the most popular martial art. I would deem Kung Fu as the overall umbrella for Chinese martial arts and thus each individual discipline probably has a much smaller following.
